Active Nepali Blogers Part One

E-mail Print PDF

update: just a copy from my previous blog

Well, This list does not mean there are only these people who actively blog from Nepal. Rather this blog is compiled from www.bloggers.com.np site , I reviewed one by one and listed. I have certain criterion to say them active like more than 1-2 post per week (well this may not be well definition of active blogger, but still) and recently. I may give more active if they have at least a post per day.

As I have seen the trend, most are very fond of blogging, so, create blog, post some posts actively in first few days and then stop, then remembers after 1-2 month or so, blogs and stops, just as mine

I just visited Nepali bloggers website (www.bloggers.com.np). Excellent.

very good initiation. Somewhere (i think in www.mysansar.com) i have read about nepali bloggers meeting, association and site, that time I looked at that and it was just initiation. Now it looks great. still lacks something, some article, it is now just as index of nepali bloggers,. but good enough to hold the URL. (there are many including me who create blogs/ website and never update). why not to pick something like blog of the week , blog of the month and post that article in this site? just one of my idea.

How to print the name of files in a folder

E-mail Print PDF

Sometimes I need to print all the musics I have in certain folder, or pictures or even files. It is hard to write them manually, it is also painstaking job to use print screen feature. So here is a solution

Open command prompt. go to the directory whose files you want to print. (If you have not already done some dos stuffs. then you can follow me. Lets say you have to print list of music in your D:/Music/Rock/New folder. then after opening command prompt

1. d: (enter) it will change directory to D drive

2. dir (enter) it will show all the files and folders in d drive. it should show Music

3. cd Music (enter) directory changed to Music, you can again use dir to see files

4. cd Rock

5. cd New

Now, you are on the desired directory)

then you need to type dir >musiclist.txt this will create a txt file in the same folder with the list of files in that folder.

if you want to include subdirectory then dir /s>list.txt,  if you don't want other summries then dir /b>list.txt

 Have a nice directory printing

How to print/ save installed program list

E-mail Print PDF

It has always been problem when you need to reinstall your operating system again. The more problem is when you lose all your programs and need to reinstall all those programs. How do you keep track of your programs?? It has been a problem.

A way has been to to use print screen command while seeing Control Panel>Add/ Remove programs (programs and feature in Vista). But it is very complicated list.

here is a simple way. if you are trunning windows XP or vista go to start>run and write msinfo32.exe.It will open system information window. then go to Software Enviroment. then, program groups. then you should be able to print all your currently installed programs.

good luck

blog in Nepali

E-mail Print PDF

Do you want to blog in Nepali? if so, You have several options. first, how do you create the posts, online or offline. If you use online tools. then www.unicodenepali.com has a smart converter that converts your roman words to Nepali unicode.

Roman नेपाली युनिकोड
ananta acharya अनन्त आचार्य
grihalakshmi गृहलक्ष्मी
tadha टाढा
tithi तिथी

see the smartness, how it evaluates "t" in different scenarios.

the other such options are http://www.var-x.com/gamabhana/ (I like this because it give you more tools,  http://ccit.com.np/RomantoUnicode.htm, http://www.chhahari.com/unicode/, and you can find some more when you google it.

If you use, blogger (Blogspot) platform, You can use transliteration Service (For hindi scripts but works great for Nepali too). http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=58226

If You want offline tools then, if You have XP or Mac OS X, you can install Nepali Unicode from Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya for romanized version.  http://mpp.org.np/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=40

if you use old Nepali type pattern ब,क,म, , then simply install those fonts. In vista, when you use Nepali Keyboard it will be in this format (Although Unicode).

For Vista (Works on other platforms too), and offline editing, I use BarahaIME tool. Its great.  http://www.baraha.com/BarahaIME.htm
